Dwell in You Richly

June 01, 2022 by Jennifer Welch

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:16-17

Dwell in You Richly…

280 days studying the bible deeply together with this community at Emmaus Bible Ministries has completely marked me, motivated me and changed me.

I didn’t know I needed this year…and almost didn’t even apply to the 10 month Biblical Studies program at Emmaus Ministries…but wow, God knew what He was doing when He nudged me and affirmed the decision to go for it! In so many ways He showed up providing, directing and leading me these last 10 months. And I’m so grateful.

As I’ve wrestled with the scriptures, gained knowledge about the context & history around the time period and stories— I’ve realized it’s birthed a new desire in me to understand the Bible more fully. It’s also resurrected creative desires in me and reminded me of the purposes and plans God has just for me.

Though there’s no clear road ahead for me, I know He’s guiding me in the fog. Though some days I feel like I’m just wandering in the wilderness—I know I’m never alone. And ultimately that the next season with His help & guide, will be more & better than I ever expected.

“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! You have multiplied, O Lord my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you, I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told.” Psalm 40:4-5
